Her tribe wanted more power to support the people, so they decided to take the chaos emeralds, which have an unlimited power supply. But Tikal realized that you can't let greed enter your heart, for if you do, it will never stop, and you'll always want more.
Eventually, the echidna people would try to get the chaos emeralds. Chaos,
the water beast who lived near the shrine where the chaos emeralds were
located, did not like t
his idea at all, and on top of that, while the
people were on a rampage to get the emeralds, they carelessly trampled
over the little creatures known as chao. This enraged Chaos, and he took
the chaos emeralds, and went on a rampage of his own.
Tikal, remembering a wise saying her grandmother had taught her: The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power, power enriched by the heart. The controller serves to unify the Chaos. Tikal realized what this meant. That the 7 chaos, are the emeralds, and that when a user takes on the power of the chaos, the power is enriched by their heart, good, or evil. With Chaos using the power of the chaos, she knew it couldn't have been good, so she pleaded for the master emerald, the controller, to seal away the power of chaos. Her wish was granted, but she was sealed away with him.
centuries later, an evil genius, Eggman, found where chaos was, and freed him, along with the spirit of Tikal. Through Sonic Adventure, Tikal helps Sonic and his friends up to the point where she reveals all of her past, and tells Sonic that she has to seal away chaos again. He disagrees: "What good will that do? all that rage and turmoil will still be caught up in his heart." Sonic uses the positive side of the emeralds, after chaos had used the negative, and now, the two invincible powers collide.
What happens? When the two super powers battle it out, if both are invincible, nether can be defeated...only neutralized. When Chaos is finally back to normal, Tikal and he fade away and... happily ever after.
