At this
point in time, two hedgehogs, Jules and Charles (the father, and uncle of
Sonic), found Julian on the outskirts of Overlander territory. Julian had
been running away for quite some time, and there had been other humans
chasing after him. Despite Charles's reluctance, he and Jules brought
Julian back to their kingdom because they thought that he might be of use.
They thought that Julian may prove to be a useful ass
et to Kingdom Acorn
in fighting against the Overlanders in the Great War. The King agreed, and
suggested that Julian work in the laboratories, on numerous experiments
that may be helpful to the kingdom.
The
Warlord of Castle Acorn, Kudos, who had secret plans to overthrow king
acorn, and become ruler over Mobius, confronted Julian. But, instead,
Julian turned the tables on Kudos, banishing him to the zone
of silence. With this "tragedy" happening,
Julian took over Kudos's spot as Warlord to Castle Acorn. Julian earned
himself trust in the eyes of the king, and became a member of the
inner council of King Acorn. It was Julian who stormed up the final plan
that finally defeated the overlanders.
During the victory celebration, when
no one was paying
attention, Julian unleashed a huge attack on
castle acorn. He captured the king, and also sends him into the zone of
silence. Julian's Army of mindless slaves, composed of uncountable
swatbots, goes out to all the villages in the kingdom and arrests all the
citizens. Later, he robotocizes all of them, and adds them to his army.
Julian cuts off all ties to his past, and even renames himself Dr. Ivo
Robotnik.
Conquering the city of Mobotropolis, and renaming it to Robotropolis, he set his sights toward conquering all of Mobius. Resistance forces, however, were not about to just stand by and watch their world be taken over, and thrown into a dark age. The greatest of his enemies, and the fastest/bravest of all the freedom fighters became soon known to him, as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Extremely frustrated by all his plans being thwarted, and foiled by the blue speedster, Robotnik struck back with a plan that was meant to turn all of Sonic's friends on him, but ultimately failed, and ended with enraging Sonic past the point-of-no-return. Robotnik and Sonic were caught in a fight to the death, when the Ultimate Nullifier was activated. Sonic just managed to survive the blast, but for all who need, or want to know, Robotnik didn't.
